Legend has it that a cargo plane had crashed in these parts back in 1934, carrying a very precious item. Archaeologists were returning from the canyons of the Superstition Mountains after doing an extensive dig near an ancient Indian Pueblo. They were returning in great spirits, for they thought they had discovered The Gold of the Lost Dutchman. No landmark in the history of the Southwest has generated so many interesting tales of lost gold and resulted in more deaths than Superstition Mountain. According to some, Weaver's Needle serves as monument to those who have searched and died for the gold of Superstition Mountain.


How it works: The group is split into teams of 4- 10 (team size varies based on group size). We encourage you to pick and choose teams prior to the day for strategic reasons. We have a pre-event briefing to explain the rules of the event, provide emergency numbers, colored bandannas, etc. Teams must interpret a number of cryptic clues to locate Route Markers positioned at local landmarks.  Throughout the course, teams will come across a variety of interesting and exciting route markers that will take them throughout the Valley of the Sun, from Phoenix to Cave Creek, Carefree to Scottsdale (based on the course locatio
